The violin of Italian maker of early 19th century.

The label reads: Felix Mori Costa, Fecit Parmae, anno 180*.

Felix Mori Costa (1756 - 1825) was strongly influenced by Giovanni Battista Guadagnini . His instruments have the particularity of having a very high quality varnish.

His instruments sometimes can be recognized by the high arch and asymmetrical f-shaped slots: one of the two is higher than the other.
