The GEWA Ackert von Adorf Viola is handmade in GEWA’s workshop in Adorf, Germany, from selected European tonewoods. The beautifully flamed maple back, sides and neck are enhanced by a mildly antiqued varnish, giving the instrument the character and charm of a traditionally made viola.
Ebony pegs and chinrest, a Wittner Ultra tailpiece and Larsen strings complete the instrument. Carefully set up and ready to play, this viola brings together the warmth of traditional German instrument making and thoughtful modern details.
The natural grain of the maple and subtle variations in the varnish give each instrument its own distinctive appearance.
