The Arcos Brasil violin bow is handmade in Brazil from Ipe wood, a Brazilian hardwood used as an alternative to pernambuco. Ipe shares some characteristics with pernambuco and is used to make bows with a traditional appearance and playing feel.
The round stick is paired with a silver-mounted ebony frog. The bow is branded “IPE” near the button for easy identification. Makers may include T. Chagas, P. Correla, F. Modenese, and T. Pampolin.
Available with round and octagonal stick
