A beautifully crafted 2003 violin by Alexandru Ozon, made in Bucharest, Romania, on a Stradivarius model. The instrument has an elegant, well-defined outline, warm amber-orange varnish and attractive figuring in the maple back.
Alexandru Ozon is a Romanian luthier with a dedicated workshop in Bucharest, where he makes, restores and repairs violins and other stringed instruments. His instruments are made using traditional materials and classical models, including Stradivarius and Guarneri patterns. Ozon instruments have also been offered internationally by specialist violin dealers.
This violin features a handsome two-piece figured maple back, traditional f-hole design, a carefully shaped scroll and ebony fittings. Its 355 mm body length gives the instrument a slightly compact proportion while retaining the familiar Stradivarius-inspired outline.
